How the Spice Levels Work

For you / Spice levels

One of each level

Each series in the feed wears a spice level between one and five, and this page explains how we set it. The spice level is our own yardstick: a quick read on how fast a story heats up, so you can pick by mood before you watch a single minute. It's a guide to tension, not a promise about what you'll see on screen.

How we set each level

Spicy series are level five, no calculation needed. They're Premium from episode 1 and sit at the top of the scale. Everything else, the open series, gets sorted into four equal groups, and those groups become levels one to four.

The sorting reads the free episodes. At each Candy count, we measure how much heat the episode subtitles carry. Where a series has no subtitles, we estimate. Then we rank the open series and cut the line into four groups of the same size. If two series tie, the series' overall score settles it.

The names help. Level one is a slow simmer, level two is warming up, level three is properly hot, level four is a fire alarm, and level five is Spicy, Premium only. Because the groups are equal in size, the levels compare open series with each other. Level four is the hottest open group, not a different kind of video.

What a level tells you, and what it doesn't

A level tells you how quickly a story heats up. A series at level one takes its time. A series at level four gets to the heat sooner. That's handy when you've got a spare minute and a mood to match, and it saves you from opening a dozen series blind.

It doesn't describe what happens on screen, and we won't narrate it. A level is a ranking built from subtitles, not a content label. At every level, what open series offer for free stays suggestive, with setup, tension and cutaways. Anything more explicit is reserved for Spicy and for the paid episodes further along.

It also says nothing about quality, plot or whether you'll like the characters. Use the level as a first filter, then let the opener do the rest. If a series surprises you, ignore our number. It's a guide, not a verdict.

Quick answers

Is level four explicit for free?

No. Level four is the hottest group of open series, but its free episodes are still suggestive, built on setup, tension and cutaways. Explicit material starts at level five, which is Premium, or in later paid episodes.

Can a spice level change?

Yes. Levels come from a ranking at each Candy count, so a new count can move a series up or down, especially when new series join the feed or subtitles appear for one we had to estimate. Treat the level as current, not carved in stone.
