Spice 2 of 5

Spice 2 is where things start warming up. The free episodes stop hinting and begin saying what they mean, though the camera still keeps its distance. Many of these stories sit inside a household or a workplace where everyone is a little too close. Every series at this level appears in the feed below.

Pick a premise, then binge two episodes

Many of the 45 series here are built on a close, awkward arrangement. You get a hired nurse in My Wife Hired My Nurse, a shared room in One Room with My Fiancée’s Mother, a counselor in Couples Therapy With Margot Vey, and a best friend's mother in Packing Up My Best Friend's Mom. My Best Friends Mom and Dad's New Girlfriend belong to the same crowd.

Because the premise shows up fast, you can judge a series in a couple of minutes. Pick one that matches your taste, play episode 1 with no account, and carry on to episode 2 with a free one. Between them, the level offers 91 free episodes, so nothing forces you into Premium to try several.

Pay attention to how episode 2 ends. From the third episode on, free accounts hit the upgrade window, so a story that already has you leaning in will make the next move obvious.
